Business Valuation Training Course

The Advanced Business Valuation training course, for the duration of Covid 19 restrictions delivered as a webinar, is a two day programme that teaches participants how to prepare robust business valuations in the context of a corporate M&A transaction.

Guided by our expert tutors you move past the stage of plugging numbers into a standard spreadsheet and learn how risk, synergies and the quality of the target company might impact its value. Participants are also taken through a number of real world scenarios to help them understand how deal structures, payment terms and competition for a deal might impact the price eventually paid.

The course is designed for established finance and business development executives needing to reinforce a basic understanding of business valuation. You will leave the course understanding best technical practice in business valuation and with an appreciation of how the dynamics of price, strategic value and competitive tension interact in a real world M&A process.

The Advanced Business Valuation course has a strong emphasis on the practical rather than the theoretical. Participants are taken through an extended case study based on a real-world transaction. Each module of the course is rich with examples and case studies drawn from the tutors’ own experiences. After the course all exercise materials, and open excel spreadsheets demonstrating the underlying calculations, are provided for future reference.

All our business valuation training courses are taught by tutors with hands-on experience preparing business and strategic valuations as part of management teams within multinational corporations – not by academics or professional advisors. This means the course material, as well as being academically rigorous, reflects their real-world experience of M&A negotiations and the practicalities of delivering on a pre-deal business case.

This course is independently accredited by the Continuing Professional Development Association to provide hours or points that can be applied to the CPD requirements of professional bodies.

Level: Intermediate to Advanced
CPD: 14 CPD hours

For the duration of the COVID 19 emergency our Advanced Business Valuation training course will be delivered as a webinar. This is an established and proven approach for The Merger Training Institute. All training dates for the Advanced Business Valuation training course up to December 2020 are currently planned as webinars. The dates for resumption of business valuation training courses on a face to face basis are of course subject to public health advice.

Delivering courses by webinar allows for flexibility of dates. Subject to tutor availability it may be possible to schedule a business valuation training course for small groups, or even individuals, on dates of your choosing.
